A Night Under the Mountain: A Fantasy Ball to Remember

What a night!!

Fantastique Collection did it again and organized such a magical night for fantasy lovers.

Last year, I was asked to attend "A Night Under the Mountain," a fantasy ball here in Arizona themed a little more spooky than previous events. Not only was I asked to participate, but I was asked to do the Suriel from ACOTAR, which is right up my alley!

This is by far the most makeup I have done on myself in terms of prosthetics since I cosplayed Pennywise and I was SO excited to do it. The makeup in full took about 90 minutes, which is far less than I expected, but I am a planner when it comes to makeup and I must have gone through the process 100 times before the night 😂

Attending cosplayers were given designated areas for guests to take photos with them. Only 20 minutes into the event, my shoes, which I'd only ever worn once before, broke! The heel popped right off and because I didn't have another set of appropriate shoes, I chose to touch it out and walked around on my toes the rest of the night. Admittedly, the ball of my left foot is still sore a couple days later, but it was worth it ❤ The experience was a wonderful one and I met SO many lovely people throughout the night.

As expected, my prosthetic teeth did begin to fall off a couple hours in, likely due to the fact

that I found it very hard not to keep smiling. I suppose I was having too much fun.

The costume itself is all handmade by me and you can bet I will be wearing it all again!

Fantastique Collection pulled off yet another beautiful event where people can be themselves and experience a fae ball like none other. During dinner, I did change out of my outfit for the sake of comfort, especially after my shoe broke and my contacts, though not entirely whiteout, did get much more difficult to see in as the night got later and lights were turned on. Weirdly, with mesh contacts, lights are the enemy.

My cosplay guest counterparts, (@highladyjo and @Quinnreadsss on IG) absolutely killed it in their Attor and Amarantha cosplays. I was so happy to meet them and work together.

As the night went on, dinner was served, but I stayed outdoors (savoring the nice weather because it was 100+ degrees only a day or two before the event) and helped man my booth. My fiance, Alex (aka CourteX Studios) was an amazing salesman as usual. I often say that he's better at talking about my books than I am.

He sold nearly all of my books, including my newest one, Wicked Tides, and it was such a wonderful way to end an absolutely magical night.

I can't thank Leslie enough for always putting faith in me to create these characters for her events. And I can't thank her enough for allowing me to come as an author as well. I'm so blessed and I hope to see everyone at the next one!!
